2008 saw the last sitting for the Mercury Circle after the medium Joan sadly became very ill and later passed to spirit with cancer. Travis, Dan, Laurie and myself kept in touch but no efforts were made to form a new circle… well not by us anyway!!!

Joan and the spirit team had different ideas and were not going to let the energies built up from ten years sitting go to waste. They already had their eye on a potential new medium and were working on influencing events to bring us all together…

…fast forward three years to 2011.. 

Travis and I had both joined an internet forum Physical Mediumship 4U. I was now sitting at home either on my own or with Dan as we were both developing trance while Laurie had put his energies back into healing and was no longer interested in physical mediumship.

…meanwhile a newly developing medium Syann was sitting in circle at an SNU Church in Brighton. It wasn’t a physical circle but Syann soon found herself being taken into trance and when she sat at home she was aware of a mist forming around her. She asked at the church about physical mediumship but couldn’t get any answers as the subject was considered taboo!!! 12 years previously she had met a medium in Bristol who had told her about trance and physical mediumship, saying at the end of Syann’s very first meditation that she had what it takes to develop it, so she tried to find her again on the internet. She couldn’t find her but instead found the Bristol Spirit Lodge and before you could say ‘ectoplasm’ she was on a train heading to Bristol to meet Chris Di Nucci who wasted no time at all getting her to sit in the cabinet!!! At first it was a mixture of confusion and excitement as several communicators tried to speak through Syann at the same time but after a stiff talking to from Chris to sort themselves out the team came back the second time with just one spokesperson, Clyde. Syann stayed for a few days and as well as sitting herself enjoyed sitting with some of the other resident mediums at BSL and by the time she was on the train back to Brighton she was really buzzing.

After Syann had gone Chris started to get the name Travis from her spirit friend FC. She had no idea who Travis was but decided to look through the members on PM4U and found him, noting that he lived in Haywards Heath near Syann. Meanwhile Syann was also pulling out all the stops to find a physical circle to sit in and she too had found Travis on PM4U. Not only that but another lady, Pat who lived in Haywards Heath was looking to start a physical circle and, you guessed it, she found Travis on PM4U. All three ladys contacted Travis at the same time and he immediately contacted me, I think the first word he used was ‘Help!!!’   

A meet up was arranged in Lindfield on Wednesday May 25th. Dan and I were working so couldn’t make it but Travis met Syann and Pat to talk about forming a new group. After this Syann began getting more and more spirits moving in close and wanting to communicate and two days later she heard the name Joan then found herself typing out the following email…  

'To my dearest friends of the Mercury Circle, it is with my joy that I find myself in the position to be able to talk to you again once more - I know that you have been awaiting my return patiently, and as I said to you that I would, so it is that I have returned to help with the continued development of the circle. My friends, it has taken me a little time to adjust to life on this side, but it is as they say it is - a wonderful place where you may surround yourselves with whatever your heart requires. It is now clear to me why I chose the path I did whilst on the earth plane and just as I aided the communication of the two worlds during my last life time I shall now begin this work once more from this side. If you would permit me to do so, then I can aid the development of this young medium with the good grace of her team. We believe she has the capacity to produce many wonderful phenomena and we believe that under the guidance of yourselves, and the guidance of her team, that she will achieve these things in a safe and secure environment. I have already affected the medium to the extent that I am able to type this message to you, and feel sure that you will not only hear my voice soon enough but also see me as you remember. My friends, I do so look forward to this meeting and with this I shall say farewell, and god bless you all - until we meet again my friends, Joan.'

Then on Friday 3rd June, I met with Pat and Travis as Syann was on holiday and Pat took us round to ‘The Rok Skool’ were she worked and kindly offered us the use of her room where she gave singing lessons during the day as a séance room. With just one window to blackout and all those singing energies in the room it seemed ideal and we decided on Thursday 9th June for our first sitting, three years and one week on from the last Mercury Circle sitting.

As it was a new circle and I hadn’t yet met Syann, it was decided to use our first evening together to discuss the running of a physical mediumship development circle and if Syann felt up to it, to sit for trance in the light.

Pat had invited her friend Wendy along but Dan had decided not to join as his work commitments would prevent him from turning up every week. We weren’t expecting too much as Syann was just getting over a cold but when it was time for her to sit we were rewarded by 45 mins of non-stop trance communication which left us all open mouthed!!!

Clyde came through first and asked how we would like the evening to proceed? I replied that it would be good to hear from as many of the team as possible and would also like any guidance as to how we should sit when we move onto full blackout conditions. Clyde told us that he would be acting as spokesperson for the team but others would be brought forward when called upon. We then heard from ‘Lone Wolf’, a Native American, who told us that he would be working as doorkeeper and went on to answer several questions from us all. Next up ‘Yosan’, a Chinese gentleman who worked with Syann in a healing capacity. We all had a long chat with him about his earth life in the 1600’s before Clyde came back to discuss how we should proceed at the next sitting. He explained that they were working with ectoplasm in the medium’s body and had brought it up into the throat but they would like to bring it up further. This would require sitting in blackout conditions but we were only to do this when the medium felt comfortable about it. Also Clyde asked us to provide a more comfortable chair with more support for the medium. He thanked us all for a most successful meeting and looked forward to working with us in the future. Syann came back feeling drained and exhausted but was pleased when we told her what a fantastic evening we’d had.

The new circle was off to a flying start and we decided to call it the ‘Mercury Star Circle’ in recognition of the ‘Mercury Circle’ and Clyde’s tea clipper the ‘Morning Star’… I found a comfy chair on Ebay and we all looked forward to the next sitting…. 

In the week before our next sitting Syann had received some messages from Clyde about the future work in the circle. He had indicated that after things were settled in I would be asked to sit opposite her and also to be taken into trance. This was a totally new idea for me.

For our 2nd sitting we put some blackout material over the window but there was still a fair amount of light getting in through the edges and also around the door frame. We also had a red light and a new chair with arms and head restraint for Syann. Clyde came through and said that the conditions in the room were much more favourable. We then heard a buzzing noise coming from the plug for the red light. Clyde suggested that the energies may be affecting the connection so I turned off the red light but the buzzing continued….. ‘how very interesting’ commented Clyde. Then Pat turned off the mains switch and the buzzing stopped.

Despite not being in full blackout conditions there was still some phenomena happening, it felt very cold and some of us experienced cob web feelings on the face. We could also see energy building up around Syann’s face, at times obscuring it from our view.

The well known direct voice medium Leslie Flint joined us for the first time to say that he had been working behind the scenes and he made a useful suggestion for the next sitting. Instead of having a pre séance discussion in the room we should leave the room empty with music playing before we sat and do our chatting in the room next door. We should also specify a time that we wish to start.

The ‘Rok Skool’ had one draw back in that it was also used for evening classes and people were walking up and down the corridor making a lot of noise during the evening. We talked about finding a new venue after the sitting.

Syann recorded the séances on her voice recorder, uploaded them to the internet and sent links to all of us including Joan’s daughter Cathryn who was interested in our circle’s development. This evening she had forgotten to turn it off and it recorded our talk about wanting to find a new venue which Cathryn heard and a few days later we had an email from Cathryn offering us the use of her design studio in her garden near Horsham!!! Syann, Travis and me went to check it out and although it was small it seemed ideal for now as a stepping stone until we found something bigger.

We held our last sitting at the ‘Rok Skool’ on the 23rd June and sadly this was the last time Pat and Wendy could join us as their work made it difficult for them to commit to every Thursday.

We’d done as instructed by Leslie Flint and we also played more upbeat music this time which we sung along to. Again the room wasn’t totally blacked out but we still saw swirling energy building up around Syann’s face and were all stunned when Clyde spoke. His voice had become much deeper and stronger. He explained that they had coated the medium’s voice box with a substance similar to ectoplasm but less sensitive to the light.

After Clyde had spoken to us a new communicator came through… 


‘well, they’ve finally let me through…. I told him that I wasn’t going to be sitting back and watching this time…’ 


We soon realized it was Joan speaking and she certainly hadn’t lost her character. She told us how glad she was that we liked Cathryn’s design studio and went on to say…


’I have carried with me the energy from the circle and I’m passing it through the medium, that’s why her development has been fast, it has been accelerated. There’s more to come, not forgetting her own natural ability, but if you like she’s inheriting what I built up, this circle is very much a continuation of the last, Nick you also carry some of the energy within you and this has been transferred also’.

Clyde ended the evening by passing his gratitude and thanks to Pat and Wendy for helping bring the circle together and the use of the premises.

So we were now down to three but determined to keep on sitting. We arrived at Cathryn’s studio the next week armed with a huge piece of blackout material, scissors, velcro and a pile of blankets and curtains intent on getting it fully blacked out but then I remembered how difficult the Healing Light was to blackout initially and this wasn’t going to be any easier with huge windows and the sun shining bright on this mid summer’s evening!!!!

After nearly two hours cutting out blackout material, attaching it with velcro to the windows and setting up the room we were a bit disappointed when we turned off the lights to test the blackout. A few cracks near the ceiling were letting in light and we soon discovered that our 100% blackout material was more like 90% as when our eyes adjusted to the darkness we could see a faint glow coming through it!!!

There was a wooden beam running across the room above where Syann was to sit so we hung curtains over that and pushed her chair against them forming a kind of open cabinet. We had been asked by the spirit team to bring a trumpet so I dusted off and brought along the old Mercury Circle trumpet that I had made ten years previously.

We had been hoping to start at 8.00pm but it was 8.45pm before we eventually settled down and opened for the first time at our new venue. After a few songs the energy built up and both Travis and I felt cob webs on the face and I felt a breeze and a light touch on the arm.

Clyde came through and I asked him if the light getting through was causing problems? he replied… ‘We would have preferred blackout in entirety but we do appreciate the effort you have gone to this evening…’

As the evening progressed we could see and feel the energy changes in the room. Travis was seeing red blobs and spirals coming down from the ceiling and we both felt our hair being played with. Clyde was happy and came back to say.. ‘We have been trying lots of new effects this evening…’ He also told us that a ‘certain singer’ was enjoying the music and we told him he was very welcome to join us when he was ready. I called Syann back and she remembered feeling a warm hand on hers.

The following week we had the studio fully blacked out thanks to copious amounts of black gaffer tape and extra layers of curtains over the windows!!! We all felt a lot more relaxed and settled and commenced sitting at our allotted time 8.00pm. Again the room filled with energy and we felt light touches, breezes and saw blobs and flickers everywhere. Clyde didn’t come through until the end when he told us they’d been directing the energies towards physical phenomena and they had managed to produce a small amount of ectoplasm from the medium’s nostril.

Syann came back remembering a pressure around her sinus which tied up with what Clyde said. He had also asked us to keep the music low at the beginning and the red light on which we did at the next sitting on 14th July. After two tunes Clyde came through to talk about how the team wished to proceed in the next few weeks. He said that we needed more sitters and suggested that we now get a cabinet and to change the music. We had been playing upbeat singalong tunes and he said that it would be beneficial to open with two or three slower tunes for the initial energy build up. We agreed to do this the following week.

Later on in the sitting after we’d witnessed the usual phenomena I began to feel trance like but resisted ‘going off’. I asked Clyde about this when he returned at the end and he said it was not their intention for me to ‘go off’ just yet but if I was agreeable it was to happen in the future.

When Syann came back she was drawn towards the salt in front of her. It had indentations on the surface and we were 99% sure it had been flat at the start. She also remembered hearing noises to her right near the window and we noticed that part of the blackout had become dislodged from a beam above the window. This we had fixed securely and we couldn’t understand how it had come out.

While setting up the studio the following week we were talking about finding new sitters for the circle and how so far things just seemed to happen as if directed by spirit. Moments later Cathryn came in and asked could she join the circle?!?!... After we picked ourselves off the floor we told her of course she could join but she then told us she was pregnant and would this be a problem? We were not sure about this and decided that she wasn’t to sit until we had asked Clyde for advice.

We now had a cabinet, well actually it was a camping toilet tent but was just the job and Syann looked totally at home sitting in it!!! We opened with the red light on and started with slower tunes but after about two minutes Syann came back to say they’d brought her back to ask for the red light to be turned off, so we did and she went off again.

When Clyde came through we asked him about Cathryn… ‘We are delighted, and especially Cathryn’s mother is delighted that she wishes to sit, however we have not yet come across this situation, therefore we would like to go away and consult with our friends on our side and we shall get back to you with a definite and informed answer next session…’

Later in the evening Freddie attempted to communicate but couldn’t quite blend his energies with Syann’s. He did manage to say...’your singing hasn’t improved!!!’ to us but then withdrew and Clyde told us that ‘our old pal’ would try again at a later date.

Once again we felt light touches, saw pin prick lights etc… Travis had a tapping on his head and I felt something coming out my nose and heard a few crackling noises. Syann thought the atmosphere looked red when she came back and got the first of many sparkly light shows in the cabinet.

On Monday 25th July Syann came over to my house in Polegate to sit for trance. This was the first of many trance sittings at my house in Polegate. Syann would come over to sit in my very small spare room which is full of stuff and has just about enough space in the middle for two people to sit opposite each other. The first time Clyde came through he said ‘I appear to be in a cupboard…’ and it’s been known as the ‘Polegate cupboard’ ever since. Syann sits for trance then we swap places and I sit in red light or blackout conditions.

These extra sittings give me the opportunity to ask Clyde questions about our PM development group and I asked him about Cathryn sitting with us. ‘We have indeed consulted with a number of physicians on our side and we were advised that of course she can sit with us, her energy will not be affected in any detrimental way to herself or her offspring…’ he went on to say… ’she may be able to sit with us for as long as she is able to but we must ask her to be honest with herself as at some point she will find it too difficult…’ Clyde also told me that I could now sit opposite the medium and if happy to do so allow myself to be taken into trance at any time during the sitting.

We wasted no time giving Cathryn the good news and she joined us for our next sitting. She had sat in public séances before but this was her first time in a development group so I decided not to let myself go into trance this time but to keep an eye on her.

I needn’t have worried as she fitted it from the start and by the second tune saw white lights forming and felt a breeze over her hands. Clyde came through to give her a warm welcome on behalf of the team and went on to say… ‘your mother is particularly delighted, however she says you should drink more water…’ Joan was still looking after her from the other side…

We were all seeing and feeling more phenomena this week especially Cathryn who had cobweb feelings all over her face as well as dribbling sensations out the side of her mouth!!! Clyde told us to expect some peculiar noises from the cabinet as they experimented with the voice box. There was a lot of slow heavy breathing going on and then some direct voice type sounds which appeared to be coming from above Syann and moving around. We acknowledged them and they got louder and nearly managed a ‘hello’. Clyde later came through in trance at the end pleased with what they’d achieved and thanked us all for our energies.

The following week I sat opposite the cabinet and when I felt the urge allowed myself to be taken into a light trance. Two communicators made themselves known, one being my main control Desmond who said… ‘very happy to be asked to join you, we are working now with combined energies, we find the mix much to our liking, we are able to bring ourselves forward in this energy you have all created…’ More direct voice development was happening in the cabinet and there was plenty happening with the sitters. Cathryn again felt a breeze over her hands and arms, stronger than last week, we all saw blobs and flashes and Travis felt a prodding on his neck. Clyde came through at the end and we asked him how the session had gone… ‘very well indeed, our new friends have settled in very well, we felt it was important to allow them the time to come through and introduce themselves…’

The next week we had our 10th sitting. After the first two tunes Travis commented that the luminous tab on the trumpet was flashing on and off. We all stared at it and it did appear to be flashing but we thought it may just be our eyes playing tricks. Travis was also seeing a lot of red energy building up around it. We didn’t get our usual greeting from Clyde but we soon started to hear direct voice development sounds. Then someone was trying to communicate in trance and after a few unclear attempts we heard…

‘Cathryn, congratulations, Cathryn congratulations on your pregnancy…’ 


Cathryn thanked the communicator who went on to say… 


‘Joan, Joan, Joan, congratulations, we are so excited for you…’ 


Realizing who was speaking Cathryn replied… ‘thankyou, Joan’s gonna be a granny…’

Joan then withdrew as moments later another familiar communicator made himself known… 


‘Boys, boys, boys…. ha, ha, ha…. Love the singing boys….I knew I could do it, ha, ha….’ Freddie was back!!!

Clyde came through with a reassuring personal message for Syann about something that had been bothering her which we were able to pass on at the end. Clyde then asked me to open the cabinet without putting the red light on!!! I agreed to give it a go and soon realized how difficult it was to stand up and make my way to the cabinet in the dark but somehow managed it and returned to my seat without hitting anything or anybody!!! Clyde then explained that they would like to proceed with the production of ectoplasm from the medium and we were to be aware of any luminosity in the cabinet and let them know what we see.

We all soon reported seeing blobby energy in the cabinet, Cathryn thought it looked inky blue then saw flashes of red. It got very cold and I felt light touches in my hair and on my face and neck while Cathryn had a pressure on the bottom of her right leg. Clyde came back and asked me to close the cabinet again.

The CD started jumping and Clyde remarked… ‘ha, ha, ha…. Who is playing with the music?’ 


We all had a good idea who it could have been and later I let myself ‘go off’ for a bit and returned having seen Freddie standing in front of me. As soon as I mentioned this Clyde came through… ‘that does not surprise me, he has been a nuisance all evening, ha, ha…’

Later when Queen was playing Freddie attempted to speak again… ‘the old ones are the best darlings, you would have been in trouble if you hadn’t kept some of my songs in!!!’ 


He then withdrew complaining that his voice now sounded like a pirate and wouldn’t come back till they’d sorted out the vocal chords…

Travis had kept in touch with ex-Mercury Circle member Daisy since she’d moved abroad and as she was coming back to England for two weeks in September we asked Clyde if it would be ok for her to join the circle as a visitor?... ‘she’s more than welcome to join us’ came the reply.

In fact September was going to be quite a busy month for visitors as another two, or was that three, were planning on visiting Sussex…

At the next sitting Cathryn noticed a light to her left shortly followed by a loud bang on the wall in the same area. It made us all jump and as we talked about it a second bang was heard. Moments later Clyde came through… ‘We’re sorry for any fright that big bang may have caused…’

I replied… ‘We thought that might have been you…’

Clyde continued… ‘It was not me my friend I can assure you but we do know exactly who it was…’

Freddie was up to mischief again!!!

There wasn’t as much communication as usual and the following week Clyde told us they were working towards materialization phenomena and asked that the floor surface is kept clear of any debris. Cathryn told him she’d give the carpet an extra good hoover…

At the end of the sitting we checked both saucers of salt for any imprints. One had lots of hairs in it including one very red hair, the same colour as Syann’s, it was almost as if there had been a hair taken from each sitter. The other saucer also had extra bits in it, the sort of stuff you’d get out of a carpet if you hoovered it!!!

Chris and Pat were visiting us from the Bristol Spirit Lodge the next week and I asked Clyde where he wanted our two visitors to sit? He replied… ‘You have three visitors ha, ha, ha…’

Clyde was referring to FC, Chris’s spirit friend, who had already made his presence known in our circle and had a particular affinity with Travis!!! Both Chris and FC had been giving welcome advice for our circle via email over the last few weeks and apart from Syann none of us had met Chris or Pat ‘in the flesh’ so were all looking forward to their visit.

The 1st September soon came round and after the introductions, a cup of tea and a natter we all took our places. Chris sat between Travis and me while Pat was between me and Cathryn. Our visitors were full of energy and excitement bringing a party atmosphere to the circle. Clyde came through to welcome them, adding that FC was welcome to join us for the entirety of the session. Chris commented that FC was behaving himself at the moment to which Clyde told her they were used to dealing with those who wish to misbehave.

We all began to feel phenomena, it got very cold, Chris felt drafts around her feet, Cathryn had a warm feeling on her knee and I felt something trickling down my face.

While the Robbie Williams song ‘Angels’ was playing we had a visit from Freddie… ‘Arrrrgh, what’s this??? Change this record over, ha, ha, ha…. Where’s my song boys??? Come on, this isn’t party music, ha, ha, ha…’ 


Then the CD started jumping and no matter what we tried it wouldn’t stop. In the end we had to put in another CD and things returned to relative normality.

After a while I felt myself going off. At the same time Yosan came to speak through Syann and answered some questions from Chris and Pat. They then heard someone with me and asked who it was, Yosan told them… ‘Nicholas’s team are with him, they lend their energy to our sessions here…’

Pat said… ‘You work together?’

Yosan… ‘Indeed we have combined our energies’

Pat… ‘So he’s helping you to talk?’

Yosan… ‘Yes, in return we hope to help his development with his team’

Chris… ‘We’ve tried this in the Lodge with a couple of mediums and it’s worked very well, it’s actually brought both of them on so they can work separately eventually’

Yosan… ‘That is right, that is what’s happening’

Yosan then turned his attention to Desmond, encouraging him to speak through me…

Desmond… ‘We work hard and we come through, and we build up our energy from within, we can utilize energies, bring ourselves forward, is a learning curve for us, we have not experienced this energy before’

Chris… ‘Thank you so much for coming like this, very interesting experiment’

Pat… ‘There’s a lovely feeling in here thanks to you and your team’

Desmond… ‘You are all responsible for the warmth of the room, you have brought your own energies in and the mix is beneficial’

Then Clyde spoke, (everybody wanted a piece of the action tonight…) ‘Thank you Desmond for addressing our visitors’

Clyde continued to talk to Chris and Pat about our circle then spoke to Cathryn… ‘Your mother would like to know how you are feeling?’

Cathryn… ‘I’m fine at the moment but have been feeling very tired today’

Clyde… ‘We shall send you some energy my friend to help with that’

Cathryn… ‘That would be lovely’

Clyde… ‘Do not tire yourself out hoovering your mother will be cross’

Cathryn… ‘I’m sure she was impressed with me’

Clyde… ‘She is impressed, however she has you wellbeing to consider’

Pat… ‘You’re still being told’

Cathryn… ‘Yes I always will be!!!’

After a bit more chat Clyde thanked our guests and closed the session. I called Syann back, told her what a great séance she had missed and we all tucked into cake and more tea. We had plenty to talk about. In five weeks time Syann, Travis and myself were going to be heading out west for a return visit to the Bristol Spirit Lodge but before that we had next week to think about…. Daisy was coming…

On both the 8th and 15th September we were joined by Daisy who was over from India. Daisy was one of the original Mercury Circle sitters from 2000 to 2007 when she had left to move abroad.

At a trance sitting on the 6th Clyde had asked me to remain seated directly opposite Syann with Daisy and Travis to my right and Cathryn to my left. He had also agreed for Syann to sit unrestrained. Up until now we had always strapped her wrists to the arms of the chair something Syann was never particularly happy about but I thought it was necessary for her own safety. Clyde explained that no harm would come to her without restraints but if in the future the team felt they would be needed then they would advise accordingly.

Freddie had made himself known to Syann during the week. She wasn’t 100% sure it was him so asked him to move something if it was, expecting a pencil or something on the table to move, but nothing happened. She then walked back into the kitchen and nearly tripped over a small but quite heavy tool box that she used to prop open the kitchen door, it was right in the door way!!!

Also whilst driving an empty minibus back from Gatwick I’d found an old CD in the bus with Robbie written on it which I played. It was a live concert recording including a cover version of the Queen classic ‘We will rock you’ which made me feel there was someone else on the bus as it played, then came the track ‘Angels’ and just like it had in the séance it started jumping… all the other tracks played fine!!!

At our first sitting with Daisy the energy built up quickly. Direct voice sounds were coming from the cabinet, Cathryn had an intense warm feeling around her neck, Daisy had pulling from her solar plexus, Travis could see blue and I was getting a tickly throat making me want to cough.

Clyde came through and welcomed our visitor.

Daisy… ‘Thank you for inviting me’

Clyde… ‘It is lovely to have you with us, your energy over the last few months of your time has been most welcome thank you’

Daisy had been sending her energies from India when we were sitting and still does…

Clyde then spoke to me… ‘You noticed a tickling in your throat I believe?’

Nick… ‘I did yes’

Clyde… ‘Good’

Nick… ‘That was intentional was it?’

Clyde… ‘It was indeed, do not be surprised if you feel that again throughout the evening and, as you say,go with the flow…’

Later on Freddie came through for a chat. His voice was starting to sound a bit more like it did and it was reminiscent of the old days in the Mercury Circle as he joked with us, complaining about our singing and telling Travis off for not turning the music up high enough. We sent him belated birthday wishes for his 65th and he told us they’d had him singing all his songs…

Lone Wolf then came through for a brief chat with us all before we heard another familiar voice as Joan arrived with a few personal words for Cathryn and a chat with Daisy.

I let myself ‘go off’ for a while then both Daisy and Cathryn said the trumpet was moving but in different directions as they both thought it was moving towards them!!! Travis couldn’t see any movement but noticed the luminous tab was flashing on and off. We waited until the end of the séance to see if it had moved off it’s spot.

Clyde came through to end the session… ‘We are feeling somewhat pleased with our achievements this evening, glad that you enjoyed it too, we would like to comment on the wonderful energy that has been created here this evening, it has been a noticeable increase’

Cathryn… ‘Daisy has to stay’

Clyde… ‘Indeed, ha, ha…’

Daisy… ‘I don’t want to go back now’

Clyde… ‘That can be arranged, just say the word…’

When I called Syann back she commented on white sparkles in the cabinet and she could see the silhouette of her hands against them. This was another reminder of the Mercury Circle when Joan used to come back seeing what she called a blizzard of white sparkles.

When the lights went on our attention turned to the trumpet but despite it’s apparent movements in the dark it was still on it’s spot. We later learned that what had been seen was energy building up around the luminous tabs of the trumpet giving the illusion of movement.

The following week was a lot quieter communication wise but we were all seeing and feeling more phenomena in the room, at one point Daisy could see what looked like net curtains stretching between me and the cabinet and there were some very strange noises coming from Syann including some that sounded like a horse trotting!!!

Clyde came through at the end telling us how busy it had been behind the scenes. They had consumed an awful lot of energy and taken the medium much deeper. It would take a little longer than normal for her to return to herself. He also thanked Daisy for her energies telling her she would be welcome back at any time...

I always pick Syann up on my way to Horsham and the following week as we traveled through the Sussex countryside she felt Clyde drawing close. I suggested if he needed to say something and wanted to take control in the car that would be fine and the next moment it was Clyde in the passenger seat!!! After commenting that his horses never travelled this fast he then told me that for this evening we were to refrain from singing for the first three tunes to help settle the energies. He seemed to be enjoying seeing the outside world as we drove along but quickly withdraw as he felt Syann’s travel sickness may start if he stayed to long…

We did as asked, sitting silent for the first three tunes and felt a soft relaxing energy build up in the room.

Clyde came through… ‘The energies are very calming my friends, very peaceful, we believe you all need a little peace this week. We will see how we maintain this energy my friends and this will dictate to us what we do with the rest of our time given we have an adequate tower of energy built up…’

I ‘went off’ for a while and felt myself actually falling asleep and waking up a couple of times. At the end of the evening when Syann came back she too said had felt herself dropping off a couple of times during the evening… We’d both been asleep on the job!!!

I was a bit concerned about us falling asleep during our sittings and asked Clyde about it at a trance session the following Tuesday. He assured me that this was meant to happen as there are some things they needed to do which can only be done if we are both asleep at the same time!?! He went on to say that at our next PM development session we should sit in red light with the cabinet open for trance during the first half before going on to full blackout.

One of the fibreglass rods on our nylon ‘toilet tent’ cabinet had broken so we’d decided to splash out on a new deluxe cotton version with a steel frame which was much sturdier. We’d also decided to remove all luminosity off the trumpet.

As requested we started with trance and I let Cathryn and Travis ask the questions. Cathryn wanted to know about the future suitability of her studio. Clyde told her it was perfect for now but we would later be moving to bigger premises. Travis asked about life in spirit and family ties while Cathryn questioned him about animals in spirit. Lone Wolf then came through and answered questions about art and literature in spirit and how they observe our life on earth.

We then closed the cabinet and turned out the red light for the rest of the evening until Clyde came back to close the session.

We were unable to sit the following week but Saturday 8th October saw Syann, Travis and me heading west for a wild weekend with spirit at Chris Di Nucci’s Bristol Spirit Lodge!!!

Warren Caylor was the medium for Saturday night and we were all treated to a powerful demonstration of spirit power. This was Syann’s first time at a public séance like this.


Yellow feather was speaking to various sitters and then turned to Syann… ‘Yellow Feather say to Syann…. You have great things coming shortly…’ 


Later on Luther invited her to stand up in front of him. He ran his materialized fingers through her hair and she got to feel his hands, needless to say she remained on a high for the rest of the weekend!!!

Travis had to get back home after Warren’s séance but there was more to come for Syann and me as Chris had some experiments planned for Sunday!!! 


In the morning Syann sat in the cabinet with Lee opposite her. Lee is a developing physical medium at the lodge who started sitting at the same time as Syann and has been developing in a similar way. Also Jerry another developing medium sat along with Pat, Chris and me. It wasn’t long before direct voice development sounds were coming from the cabinet, Chris encouraged them to speak as both Lee and Jerry drifted off. The energies of the room were very powerful and although I tried to stay awake I was soon taken into a light trance myself leaving just Pat and Chris awake. When I came back I was hit by a wave of emotion and had to fight to stop myself busting into tears!!!

Clyde gave permission for Chris to put the red light on and open the cabinet and went on to say… ‘Here we find ourselves again… the team would like to extend their thanks for all the energy contributed this morning…’

Clyde then talked about Warren’s séance… ‘We have consulted at great length with the spirit team involved with the medium’s efforts last evening… the information we will take back with ourselves and utilize in a way that is appropriate for the vessel’s own development…’

He went on to say that our spirit team and Lee’s spirit team had also exchanged information benefiting both teams before thanking everyone and withdrawing. I called Syann back but that wasn’t it as Jerry then swapped places with Syann and we were all treated to a transfiguration demonstration!!!

Time for lunch and a chill out, then it was my turn in the cabinet. Lee and Jerry had to get home so Chris put Syann opposite me with Pat and herself each side and we started in full blackout. I felt the familiar feelings of spirit moving close but wasn’t prepared for what followed… Suddenly it felt like 10,000 volts of electricity shooting up my arms and into my face and my teeth started chattering uncontrollably. I was still fully aware and I remember thinking I’d just had some fillings done at the dentist, I hope they don’t all fall out!!! Words were being forced out my mouth which were loud but unrecognizable, I just tried to relax and let it all happen. Later things calmed down and the cabinet was opened and the red light put on. Syann had been seeing faces over mine when we’d sat in Polegate and she was pleased when Pat and Chris confirmed that they saw them as well. The session ended with a short trance communication then it was time for Syann and myself to return home after thanking Chris for all her efforts and a fantastic weekend.

After all the fun and games in Bristol we settled down for our next PM development sitting.

Clyde had asked us to put the luminous tabs back on the trumpet as they wanted us to see the energy build up around it and half way through the session we all saw it appear to move. It looked like it was wobbling from side to side, Travis thought it was turning and both Cathryn and me thought it was moving towards us. After a period of stillness it started moving again and Cathryn saw blue energy around it.

We had direct voice development sounds but no trance communications this week and just before the end we all heard a flicking paper noise. When the lights went on the trumpet was still on it’s spot and the pad of paper which we always had in the circle along with a pencil looked untouched but the second page had a straight red line across it!!!

For the next week I’d fitted an extension to the front of the cabinet with a curtain hung on rings. This made it easier to open and close the front and gave Syann a bit more leg room as I’d also taken a few inches off the back legs off her chair making it more comfortable and laid back. Cathryn had sewn a pocket to the inside of the cabinet as we now had two recorders, one outside with the sitters and one inside to better pickup any direct voice sounds.

This turned out to be a very quiet week communication wise as there was no direct voice development or trance. Outside the cabinet we were still feeling and seeing phenomena and we heard several clicks around the room.

The following week was equally quiet until the end of the session when some sudden loud direct voice development made us all jump out our seats!!!

Clyde then came through in trance… ‘Thank you for your dedication my friends, we know it can be quiet sometimes, we thank you for your patience, a lot of hard work has been accomplished…’

We then asked him about a potential new sitter who had been in touch, to which he replied… ‘Please invite her along to the next session…’

The new sitter was Natasha and she had contacted us through PM4U. She met up with Syann and myself the following Tuesday for a chat, tea and cake and we all looked forward to her joining us on Thursday…
